Welcome to my vintage snowmobile pages. Here you will find pictures and stories of the old snowmobiles I fix and ride. These old sleds are loaded with character and offer a great time on the snow. Compared to today's new sleds, they offer many advantages. They are lightweight, spritited performers just begging to be taken out for a great time hitting the drifts, running fence- and tree-lines, or whatever else you can think of. Find yourself an old sled, fix it up, and see for yourself what I'm talking about!
Sleds I used to own.

Here are two 1971 Sno*Jet Star Jets with 292cc Hirth single cylinder engines. I used to have 4 of these; I still have 2.
This is a 1978 Arctic Cat Panter 500 f/a. It needed work and I decided I didn't need 2 Panteras
This 1976 Polaris Colt 340 f/a was a decent runner. I didn't plan on selling it until a fellow made a good offer on it and I couldn't refuse.
This 1973 Ski-Doo T'nT Silver Bullet was a nice sled I intended to keep. But again, I was offered good money and I decided to sell.
A pair of Arctic Cat Panthers - a '70 and '72. These were just a couple of parts sleds by the time I got ahold of them. The '72 was a sled my neighbor used up at our Cabin. It was nicknamed The Chainsaw.
I traded the '72 Polaris Colt on the left for this 1971 Scorpion Stinger II on the right. I later used the Scorpion on a trade for the 1973 El Tigre below.
I traded the Scorpion above and a Bolens Hus-Ski for this El Tigre. I decided to sell the 73 after I found the 74 El Tigre below.

These are before and after pictures of a 1975 Sno*Jet Astro SS that I fixed up. I sold it after I bought two SST's - one a 340 f/a and the other the 440 below.
This little 1980 John Deere Spitfire is one of the most enjoyable sleds I've ever ridden. Why did I get rid of it then? Find out here.
After a season with this El Tigre, I decided a hyperactive, pseudo-racing machine just didn't suite riding style. Don't get me wrong, it's an awesome vintage machine - just not for me. You can read about this sled here: 1974 El Tigre
Here is yet another victim of my seeming constant change in tastes. The Pantera was a very comfortable sled, and never let me down. It is now owned by a young neighbor who can't wait to get out and ride!
I said good-bye to this sled after a season of poor snow, 1-too-many Sno*Jets, and an unfortunate case of burndown. But the time I did have with it was a blast!
